About Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are durable covers or caps that are carefully fitted around the visible portion of a problem tooth to protect it from further damage. Sometimes crowns are used to cover a tooth where a large cavity existed, to replace old metal fillings, or to keep broken teeth from breaking further. Crowns can be made of a variety of materials but at Start Smiling Dental our crowns are made entirely of porcelain which is the highest quality available.
All-Porcelain Crowns replicate the look of natural teeth more accurately than other available options and since they have no metal, you'll never get the dark line near your gum. Check out the amazing results we've gotten here at Start Smiling Dental in the gallery below!
If you've been told you need a crown and would like a second opinion or just an estimate, give our office a call at 404-255-6782 and we will be happy to help.
Dental Crowns Reviews
"Last week I had the first of two appointments for the replacement of a crown. I was amazed that I did not feel even the initial stick of the injection, and the entire process was comfortable and painless, even when the numbness wore off. Many thanks to Dr. Sayeg for his skill and calm, easy manner and Shinny for her warmth and professionalism. For her congeniality and gentle touch during all of my dental cleanings, I thank Tanya. And Rebecca is to be commended for being efficient and ever-pleasant, with a ready smile in person that can even be heard through the telephone. With such caring staff, access to my favorite shows on Netflix and Hulu, and paraffin hand treatments, this office makes dental visits feel almost like trips to a day spa!"- A.H. / Yelp / Feb 25, 2017

"After receiving the anesthetic, putting on the headphones to watch a nature show on Netflix, I was so relaxed in the dental chair, I actually fell asleep as Dr. Cherof and his assistant, Daysha, worked to prepare my back molars for a bridge! I give you 5 stars!"- E.C. / Google / Feb 05, 2017
What to Expect
To create a custom crown, our dental team first prepares the tooth and takes impressionsthat will be sent to the dental laboratory. A temporary crown will be placed on the tooth while the permanent, custom crown is being made. When the permanent crown is returned to the office, the dentist will fit and set the crown on your tooth. The result will be a beautiful restoration that will function like a natural tooth!
Some patients may experience temporary discomfort or tooth sensitivity, but most patients do not usually have any pain after a crown is placed. With proper home care and regular dental cleanings and exams, a crown may last for 10 - 40 years, depending on the material of the crown. In some cases, a cavity or infection may develop under the tooth, which may require a root canal or other procedure.
Since every patient needs are different, costs can also vary. If you've been told you need a crown and would like a second opinion, we will be happy to see you for a complimentary consultation. If you haven't seen a dentist recently, but have teeth that are broken or are bothering you, we will be happy to schedule you for an exam to see what treatment will be best. Give us a call today at 404-255-6782 to get scheduled!
Insurance: Dental Insurance usually covers a portion of crown costs depending on your policy. If you'd like us to confirm your benefits in our office, give one of our insurance experts a call at 404-255-6782.
Start Smiling Dental offers several different payment plans as well as long term financing through Care Credit and Lending Club. We will work hard to help you fit the treatment you need and want into your budget!
