Home Tooth Whitening Overview
A beautiful white smile is one of the best accessories you can wear and the first thing people will generally notice about you. Teeth Whitening can take years off your face, and have you smiling with true confidence.
Despite a careful and meticulous oral hygiene routine, the daily wear and tear of life combined with some of our favorite foods and drinks can often cause stubborn tooth discoloration. Our simple solution for this common occurrence is Teeth Whitening. Start Smiling Dental, in Atlanta / Sandy Springs, GA offers two options for teeth whitening: In-office whitening and At-Home Whitening.
Home Tooth Whitening Reviews
How does it work?
Unlike one-size-fits-all whitening kits sold online or in stores, our At-Home Whitening treatments are customized for your needs. At your consultation appointment we will go over whitening options with you to determine which one will meet your needs best. If At-Home Whitening is chosen, we will show you on a shade guide how white your teeth should get. Unlike most offices, we will guarantee this result!
We then make custom whitening trays using molds of your teeth and determine which type of whitening gel will work best for you. You will then wear the trays for about 1-2 hours per day until you have achieved the white smile you always wanted! On most people, it takes about 2 weeks.
Teeth Whitening FAQs
How white can I expect my teeth to get? Each patient has what we call a "whitest possible shade". It also depends on if we are removing surface stains or if they are internal from certain medications. In most cases though, your results will be dramatic. Before we begin the procedure, we will show you on a shade guide the result we expect you to see. We guarantee those results!
How long will my teeth stay white? Your teeth will re-stain, just as they did before your whitening treatment, but the advantage of custom made trays, is you can use them whenever needed for whitening touch-ups. Whitening gel touch-up kits are also available for purchase at a much lower cost than your initial treatment. Most patients wear their trays for one hour/once a month to keep their maximum whiteness.
Will it whiten my crowns or fillings? Teeth Whitening will not whiten any type of dental restoration such as fillings or crowns, so it may not be the best option if you have those on your front teeth. Many times though, your teeth might have stained since having those restorations. In those cases, Teeth Whitening can work to match your teeth to the whiteness of the restorations.
