Once the teeth and gums are ready, we will apply the Philips Zoom! whitening ge then activate the gel with the blue LED light. The light can be adjusted to different intensity settings for the patient’s goals. Zoom! procedures most often take about about an hour, but our office also makes mold of your teeth for custom-made trays. Teeth Whitening FAQs

How white can I expect my teeth to get? Each patient has what we call  a "whitest possible shade". It also depends on if we are removing surface stains or if they are internal from certain medications. In most cases though, your results will be dramatic. Before we begin the procedure, we will show you on a shade guide the result we expect you to see. We guarantee those results!

How long will my teeth stay white? Your teeth will re-stain depending on your diet and lifestyle. Tobacco, coffee, tea, dark soft drinks etc... will stain you teeth just as they did before the procedure. The good news is that we include custom-made trays with your treatment as well as a starter touch-up kit of solution. We usually recommend patients wear the trays with solution for one hour/once a month to maintain their white smile.

Can I do Zoom! if I have crowns or fillings? Any type of Teeth Whitening will not whiten any type of dental restoration such as fillings or crowns, so it may not be the best option if you have those on your front teeth. Many times though, your teeth might have stained since having those restorations. In those cases, Teeth Whitening can work to match your teeth to the whiteness of the restorations.

Is it safe? Zoom! Teeth Whitening has been used for many years and has excellent safety results. It's active ingredient - hydrogen peroxide - has been used to whiten teeth for over 100 years. It does not soften enamel or existing restorations.

Is it painful? You should not feel any discomfort during the procedure. Some patients report feeling a dull ache following the treatment, but is easily treated with Advil or Tylenol which we can provide to you if needed. We also recommend avoiding extremely cold or hot food or drinks for 24 hours after the treatment to avoid any sensitivity.
