Finances/Insurance

Financial Information

When you schedule your first appointment at Start Smiling Dental, we will be happy to give you an estimate of your charges.

If you have dental insurance, as a service, we will accept the payment assignment of your insurance benefits directly to our office. We do not currently participate in any PPO or DMO plans, however, we will file to any insurance plan that provides benefits where you may go to the dentist of your choice or have “out-of-network” benefits.

If you would like us to confirm your benefits, we will be happy to call and check for you in advance.

We do ask that you pay for treatment on the day it is performed. For our patients with dental insurance, this would include your deductible (if it applies), and any other amount not covered by your plan. Please be aware that your estimated portion will be due on the day of treatment, and we can never guarantee an exact amount that your carrier will pay.

For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, all major credit cards and CareCredit., Lending Club, & Prosper Healthcare Financing.

Our office staff is always happy to discuss financial arrangements prior to initiating treatment. If you should need extensive dental treatment, we do offer several payment plans, including financing and no-interest options with our health care financing partners.

CareCredit

The CareCredit credit card is an alternative to consumer credit cards, cash, or checks. With a CareCredit card you can make convenient monthly payments instead of a lump sum prior to treatment. CareCredit helps makes it easier for cardholders to pay for the care they need.

Lending Club

Lending Club is the world’s largest online marketplace connecting borrowers and investors. We’re transforming the banking system to make credit more affordable and investing more rewarding.

Prosper Healthcare Lending

The nations premier healthcare service lender. Prosper Healthcare is an American HealthCare Lending service that works with patients, hospitals and clinics for health and cosmetic procedures.

Dental Insurance Information

Our practice is committed to providing the highest quality and conservative dental care in a safe environment. This commitment involves many factors including skill and level of care from our team, quality of materials used, quality of equipment used, and level of continuing dental education of our doctors and team.

Insurance companies set arbitrary reimbursement fees for specific dental procedures. These reimbursements have no consideration for the level of care that our doctors provide. Our doctors are able to provide the finest care available because they are not affiliated with any of these dental insurance contracts (i.e.: PPO, DMO plans).

Most services performed in our office are covered by most insurance plans. The rate at which they are covered usually can be determined prior to the initiation of any treatment. Our treatment coordinators will do everything possible to assist you in obtaining maximum benefits through your contract. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated. As a service to our patients, we will gladly process your insurance claims and estimate your deductible and portion not covered by your plan. We do ask that you pay the estimated amount not covered by your insurance at the time of treatment.

When payment from your insurance company is received, any estimated amounts not paid by your plan would be your responsibility. If your insurance pays more than what we estimated, that amount would be refunded to you.

Please give us a call if you have any questions regarding fees or your insurance benefits before your first visit!
